JAPA: No More Leave Of Absence For Health Workers Relocating Abroad – FG -

 

The Minister of State for Health, Dr. Tunji Alausa, on Saturday, said that the Federal Government had directed that health workers going abroad to seek greener pastures must henceforth resign their appointments before embarking on such journeys.

Alausa said the era of health workers exiting to other countries in search of better offers after applying for a leave of absence is no longer acceptable.

The minister said that the ban on the leave of absence for health workers emanated from the executive order issued by President Bola Tinubu as part of drastic steps to combat the challenge of brain drain fondly called ‘Japa Syndrome’ confronting the nation’s health sector.

This is just as Alausa also revealed that the FG has commenced the production of manpower in the health sector such that the annual enrolment of nurses which used to be 28,000 is now 68,000 and that by the end of this year, it would have gone up to 120,000.

The minister stated this on Saturday during his visit to the Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Kim Kardashian is in trouble with the feds over an Instagram post promoting a cryptocurrency asset that has been blasted by critics as a "pump and dump" scheme.

 

The Securities and Exchange Commission announced on Monday, October 3, that it has charged the reality television star and social media influencer "for touting on social media a crypto asset security … without disclosing the payment she received for the promotion." 

 

The SEC said Kim K "agreed to settle the charges, pay $1.26 million in penalties, disgorgement, and interest, and cooperate" with the ongoing investigation.

Again, US court postpones sentencing of alleged fraudster Hushpuppi

 A United States Central District Court in California has again, postponed the sentencing of alleged fraudster, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, for the fourth time.

 

According to a court’s notice obtained by Premium Times, the trial judge, Otis Wright, has fixed 7 November, 2022, as the new date to sentence Hushpuppi.

Freedom doesn't just happen: Obama


US President Barack Obama, marking his final Fourth of July in the White House, says freedom isn't something that "just happens" but must be defended every single day.
Obama said it's important that people remember what "a miracle" the US is and how "incredibly lucky we are that people generations ago were willing to take up arms and fight for our freedom".
"Independence is not something that just happens," he said during brief remarks to several hundred people in the White House East Room after rain forced cancellation for the second straight year of an annual barbecue on the South Lawn for some 5000 military service members, veterans and their families.
"It's something that we have to fight for every single day," Obama said.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand – A New Zealand couple said they found a cloth bundle containing a severed head while strolling along a popular Fiji beach in what has become the latest gruesome discovery in a murder case that has captivated the picturesque South Pacific island nation.
Similar tied bundles that washed ashore in late June at Natadola Beach contained two pairs of feet, according to local news reports.
